Owned by NIU music professor and guitarist Fareed Haque, The House Cafe opened its doors in March of 2005. Located at 263 E. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb Ill, we are about 60 miles straight west of Chicago. Dekalb is home to Northern Illinois University, which has a student body of about 20,000. We are a family friendly venue open to all ages. We offer simple healthy breakfast, lunch and light dinner fare. Most items are $3-5! We feature great coffees and teas, beer and wine, free wireless internet and music 6 nights a week.
